OJStat is developed with love and passion to contribute, not to compete with any existing established similar apps. OJStat is expected to be one of the options chosen by OJS users around the world. Developing OJStat, however, is not as easy as uploading it on this blog. It requires efforts and resources of any kind. The following is a list of "obstacles" that I usually enconter in developing OJStat. I also put what users can do to support me overcoming the obstacles.
Need Feedbacks: In developing OJStat, I need feedbacks from the users or testers to find bugs (if any) and opportunities to develop the features in the next version. To date, I only have feedbacks from PKP Forum members and those feedbacks are heavily significant in OJStat development from version to version. Users can use OJStat either as testers or real users and then share inputs to me via Contact Form provided. This obstacle seems to be rooted on the next obstacle.
Need Users: OJStat has not been used by many OJS users to date. It is so because OJStat is not widely known yet. Therefore, although a user choses other similar apps, they can share some kind words about OJStat via Forums, Comments on relevant videos on YouTube or Blog Posts, and so on.
Human Resources: I am a father of two kids and a teacher of hundred students. I have very limited time to spare with my various activities including developing this app. I need a team to develop OJStat, even remotely, but till now I don't have one. Users with web programming language can help develop this app by teamwork. For those who feel being called, feel free to fill the Contact Form.
Need Time: OJStat development goes slow because it is not developed by a team. Users who want to involve other than the previous option can help OJStat by making videos about OJStat and uploading the videos on YouTube and send the URLs via Contact Form and being posted (embedded) on the Tutorial Videos page.
Need Devices: OJStat should be tested in different devices so that I can understand how it behaves and appears on different screen sizes. Users who use various devices can submit their feedbacks via Contact Form. That will be helpful for OJStat development because currently OJStat is developed only in one device (netbook) with Windows installed.
Need Coffee: Even editing a journal on OJS coffee plays an important role for "caffeinated journal editors" like me. Users who want to have a cup of coffee with me can use PayPal Form (secured) provided .
